About
Sharing data to identify the causes of childhood allergies and asthma.
Background
- Asthma affects 8-10% of children in the United States.
- Asthma prevention depends on identifying modifiable prenatal and early life risk factors.
- Individual birth cohort studies are limited by heterogeneity and modest sample size.
- The Purpose of the Children’s Allergy and Asthma Data Repository (CADRE) is to address these limitations by ensuring access to allergy and asthma birth cohort data for the scientific community.
Overview of CADRE
- Incorporates data from birth cohorts from across the United States
- Pool and harmonize data from NIH-funded allergy and asthma cohort studies for collaborative research
- Facilitate data usability, harmonization and interpretation
